Kathy and Marty developed workingsilver.com to be the most user friendly on-line retailer of metalsmithing products in Canada. workingsilver.com is a new, family owned business located on Gabriola Island, British Columbia – “The Isle of the Arts”, and caters to artisan metalsmiths and hobbyists.

Our intention is to support your creative process through our Learning Centre and to offer quality tools, metals, stones, and supplies at fair prices. We reach the many Canadian jewellery artists who live in rural areas without storefront access to the products they need. Of course, we also serve Canadians living in urban areas.

We focus on the products you need to hand fabricate silver and mixed metal jewellery; and we plan to expand our product line to include precious metal clay, casting, and beading supplies.

Kathy leads the company, drawing on her experience in business management, retail, and silversmithing. She was born in Silver City, New Mexico, and grew up in Silverton – in the Silver Valley in Idaho where her father mined silver. Kathy was destined to forge silver into pieces of wearable art!
